CD Reviews

An amazing compilation

"Well, I'm glad there's at least one other music fan on this side of the pond who discovered and loved this album! I found it quite by accident myself (browsing the "compilation" section of a record store while looking for some dB's songs since i couldn't get a hold of their albums at the time) and on the first listen I knew I had stumbled onto a hidden treasure. Big Star, dB's and Teenage Fanclub fans will love this compilation--IMHO it's even better than Bandwagonesque. (Note: like the first reviewer I LOVE the first track, got totally addicted to it...but it has no relation to the TF song of the same name ["December"].)It's too bad Johan's own album, which is also fantastic, was underpromoted by Sire Records. Now no one's heard of them and the other six bands can't even get an album released in the U.S. at all. And my least favorite of these bands, Caesar, is the one that made a mini-splash in the UK I hear--aaargh! Ah well, such is life for an alternative music fan. Someday Scram C Baby or Simmer or Daryll-Ann will hit it big and we lucky few who knew 'em way back when will be able to say we told ya so."
Beautiful crafted pop songs

"There is so much good stuff on this album, its hard to pass up. 7 dutch bands, 14 wonderful pop songs. A lot of the songs are very raw, and catch you at the moment. Some are more dreamy and put you in a different world. A solid album with so many good songs. Listen to the first Johan song, one of my favorites."
