Even if you have some of the cuts on old-fashioned vinyl - or on other CDs, for you Generation X hep cats - the perfect balance of this collection of jazz classics by class jazz acts is "the bomb." From Louis Armstrong's trademark "When the Saints Go Marchin' In" (with a few bars of "Hello Dolly" thrown in for good measure), to Fats Waller's faster than light speed "Dinah," it's a comprehensive enlightenment to America's only original art form. Beiderbecke's "Tiger Rag" (the theme song for "Steamboat Willie," Disney's Mickey Mouse prototype), Cab Calloway's smokin' "Minnie the Moocher" and Lady Day's mellow "Fine and Mellow" - and more...
