CD Reviews

Brilliant
Arvejo | Bogota - Delray Beach | 04/18/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"No reviews for this album yet? C'mon this is brilliant! One of the best of the series and with a crisp sound this has some wonderful soul and funk. You have to listen to the sad guitar intro to Temptation Is Hard to Fight by George McGregor and The Bronzettes. It truly sounds like a guitar weeping. Eerie and beuatiful. Don't wait and buy this."
Pure soul, not as "hot" as some of the Numero Uno releases
collegemoney | 07/17/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"What you will find here is "classic 70's soul" in all its many incarnations of the period-- plenty of falsetto vocals and other things that will remind you of famous artists contemporary to the time. In other words, little known artists performing songs in the mold of the Dells, O. V. Wright, etc. Nate Evans (who I believe graces the cover) is a ringer, vocally, for Lou Rawls. I admit I didn't find this as hot as some of the other Numero Uno releases such as Belize City Boilover and Grand Bahama Goombay, which are enlivened by their Carribean ethnic influences. Therefore the 4 stars instead of 5. But if you are looking for some pure 70's soul sounds, this is for you."
Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda
Keith A. Robb | Cuy. Falls OH USA | 05/18/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda. An apt description for the Twinight Label. They're recordings were inpressive enough, the trouble was they didn't recieve the promotion and respect they deserved. It's good to see Numero helping to rectify this matter"
