In the mid to late 50's Havana was
THE ultimate tourist destination -
the music in the nightclubs was hotter than anywhere else in
the world, featuring the most colorful dancers and a tropical
ambiance that was unparalleled. The sounds of that era can
never be duplicated, nor the influential artists who brought
the music to life such as Bebo Valdes, Doris de la Torre,
Frank Emilio Flynn, Puntillita and later Luis Santi and Nelson
Padron who immigrated to Miami in the early 60's.
Now fast-forward 60 years to the clubs of today. DJs all over
the world have plugged into the exotic rhythms of the Golden
Age of Cuban music indeed these rare artifacts have been
sampled by some of the hottest taste-makers on the planet.
The Cuban Remix Project was born from the concept of
combining the exotic music of Havana's
Golden Age with the technology and the DJ
of today. You get 17 tracks of absolute
