Missing Links a Must for Any Mid '60s Garage Band Collector
Daniel Euergetes | Florida, USA | 03/12/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Though Lo-Fi, this band touches upon the undescribable magical feeling in the air of the mid-to-late 1960s, and no other thing besides other electric music of this gendre can do this. Back to teen-agers wearing patched-up bluegeans and beads, dancing in front of the record machine with flowery sounds in the open air pavilion, the music invading the ordinary, straight-laced regulars sitting at the picnic tables trying to listen to their square Guy Lombardo music, attempting to block out the psychedelic sounds permeating like lightening in the dark night every campsite in the camping area we were at! And back to the crowded narrow streets of Providencetown and the squeezing and swirling colored souveneer shops, incense, reeking hippies, bare-chested, toga clad, and plastic raincoated, and other exciting sights, fragrance, and sounds. Missing Links and like music helps bring back alive those unique, mystical, magical times of my childhood that have not been repeated since. Some may say this band stinks, but they're close to my heart and soul for their quiant, spontanious originality, including their coversongs. The other artists on this recording still helps provide reasurrance that the beautiful and loving side of humanity in our world of hate and terrorism still exists. Still an oasis in the desert of these times, like those times, these re-issues are treasures of our times and should never be forgotten. Now out of print, get 'em whilst you can! Meanwhile, check out other Colletibles Records recordings. They are a fine source of this type of material. Now that's a protoplasmic perpetuation! Haaaahahahahahaaaaaaa! Get it NOW!"
