A Great Period CD

"I haven't seen the movie, but after hearing this CD, you can bet I will. The music is so true to the 1920's style of music. I couldn't keep from tapping my feet to the tunes. Kirsten Dunst sings "After You've Gone" and she does a fabulous job. I highly recommend this CD if you're interested in 1920's music."

"Warning to '20s music aficionados: these recordings are not authentic, but recordings of old tunes performed in stereo by modern bands. Taken on their own merits they're so-so, but to my ears they may as well have used a Moog synthesizer. Exceptions are the excellent "Everybody Loves My Baby" and the King of Jazz's version of "The Charleston", tunes the serious collector owns already. For the real thing, I heartily recommend the soundtrack to another (much better) Bogdanovich film, Paper Moon, sadly unavailable on CD but one can still find it on vinyl at the better used record stores."
