CD Reviews

Classic LBC Rap with developed Lyrical Skills
revelucion | London, England | 05/18/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is a gem, with the highly unknown and underated Low Lifes, soon to be West Coast Super Star Crooked I and guest spots by LBC favorites Bad Azz and Tray Dee this album has it all! Gangsta tracks like 'Bustaz', 'Servin & Swervin' and 'One Ninein' amongst others satisfy those of us who appreciate that smooth gangsta story telling and melodic beats that are a trade mark of not only the LBC but of the entire West Coast. Laid back tracks like 'Stay Outta LA' and 'Success before i Die' provide the atmosphere that just needs to be Smoked up!! My personal favorite is the lyrical homocide on 'Rap Killers' where the Star of the CD, Crooked I rips the beat to shreads with a little help from OG Tray Dee and mobsters the Low Lifes. The whole album is bangin with little if any to be skipped. If you have heard of Crooked I then you will love this CD if you have not buy it and know about real lyrical skills and know the future of the West Coast! Also embrace the Low Lifes not since the Outlawz have a click brought it so Raw and not since the Legendary Soldier 2PAC (Makaveli the Don) have we had a Cali figure head like Crooked I. Get this CD Now!! Peace."
Pretty Good Compilation of Long Beach rappers
G$ | B-More, MD | 11/19/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"C-Style got some of the LBC's big names and some up and coming rappers from the LBC and put together a pretty good compilation. Not near as good as his "Straight Outta Cali" compilation (which is great and you gotta get a copy of it) but still pretty solid. Has one or 2 skippable songs and 1 great one, most are pretty good or good and listenable. Production is also pretty good, mostly handled by LT Hutton (8 songs), with Dave Knight doing 2, and Salim, Soopafly, Beau Dozier, and DJ Aladdin all do 1 song. A must have album for west coast rap fans.
