"The CD Madeira provides a well-rounded tour of the islands's folk music and through the lines, a glimpse into the heart of Madeiran folklore. As the producer of the only Portuguese radio program in the State of Hawaii, it is essential that I have authentic music - both folk and contemporary - available to share with our listeners. This CD meets that aim. More, it reminds me of the island where my grandparents were born and from where they came to Hawaii. As a frequent visitor to Madeira, I can close my eyes and picture the festas and romarias. Thank you for giving me voices to go with the images. Muito obrigada, mahalo nui loa, thank you!. "If you're interested in the history of the Ukulele, this is a record containing some songs created by its father, the Madeira Island's four-chord instrument, braguinha. Unfornately, the recording is bad, some groups are bad choosen and the global sounding is weak. It's a pitty."
