Synopsis

Album Description
Who would have thought, that British suburbs, like Birmingham are responsible for hype around dancable Indian Pop music - Bhangra beats together with Hip Hop grooves and Rap. "Bhangra" has become the catchword these days ever since Punjabi MC (from Birmingham) entered the German Music Charts with his Bhangra song. Outside of the Indian community, nobody really took notice of the music that has been playing all along in the English clubs "around the corner". It was small labels, that started working with this style, labels like Nachural Music, Roma II or Envy from Birmingham. These agilly labels have set a trend, that has spread beyond the music business - it has also reach the international fashion business. "BOMBAY BHANGRA CLUB" has the tracks coming from this scene - bands, musicians and DJ's such as Achanak, Bombay Talkie, Sukhi, DJ Zeus, Anakhi and many more. The origin of the European produced Bhangra sound comes from the Indian traditional music from the Punjab region. Main drum instrument is the Dhol, that builds the thriving groove, accompanied by synthesizer, guitar, vocals and samples from Hip Hop, UK Garage sounds, etc. Actually a very simple synthesis, but also very effective. "BOMBAY BHANGRA CLUB" is compiled by DJ Red Buddha and released through Blue Flame/Zomba in Germany and shows Bhangra music, that is being played in the clubs under the heading of "hot stuff". The Bollywood film industries is buying almost every Bhangra release these days for their movies and the Indian music industry is baffled by the trend, that comes from Birmingham and other cities from the U.K. making this hype into an international story of success. What Actually Is BHANGRA... A music style that is part of the recent India trend, that didn't come upon us like the great flood, such as other lifestyles and fashion trends, but rather as a soft drizzle leaving us unable to decide on either getting a nose piercing or drather having a cup of yogi/spice-tea. It's a question of time, when the first grand Bollywood movies will be shown in theatres around the world. Recently so-called "Desi-Parties" are taking over in clubs - fashion show and dance event in one.
