An album which sums up the essence of New Orleans

"I picked up this CD in a small gift shop on Decataur Street this last October. It was my second trip to New Orleans in as many years and I wanted to bring home a CD which summed up the music I heard every night while prowling the French Quarter. This CD is it. For anyone who has never been to New Orleans, close your eyes and listen to this CD and the French Quarter will come alive to you - you'll see and feel the gas lamps, the open-air bars and the French and Spanish architechture with every note played. There isn't a bad song on the entire CD, however I feel there are four stand-outs: Sacred Ground by John Mooney, 30 By 90 by Paula & the Pontiacs, Whiskey & a Beer to Go by Nelson Lunding (my personal favorite) and the song which gets my three year old up and dancing - Big Ol' Woman by Stavin' Chain. This CD is a must have for anyone who loves the Blues or just loves New Orleans."
