"This review refers to "Blues That Gave America Soul"(Audio Cassette/MCA)....First things first....This album is missing two of the tracks listed here on the buying info. "Walk" - Jimmy McCracklin and
"Thrill Is Gone" - B.B. King are not included and there are only 8 tracks, not 10 as shown. That being said, the rest of the album is fabulous. The songs just say The Blues. The artists including, T-Bone Walker,Little Junior Parker,Bobby Bland and Memphis Slim,put such great feeling and meaning into the words.Every song tells a story. The way they make the instruments speak the blues is pure magic. I could listen to this album for hours. If you love the blues you can't go wrong for the price or with these songs, "They Call It Stormy Monday","Reconsider Baby","There Goes The Mailman","Keep On Doggin",Driving Wheel","Living Like A King", "Savin My Love For You", and "Confusion Blues". The recordings sound pretty good as well.If not for the fact that it was missing two of the songs I was expecting to hear, I would have gone five stars for this great mix of "Blues That Gave America Soul"So if the mailman passes you by with no letter from your baby today..just kick back with these blues guys...they know just what you're feelin!enjoy....Laurie"
