"Each edition of the "Blowing the Fuse" series from Bear Family Records is amazing. These classic R&B songs have never sounded better - I wholeheartedly agree with David Greene (he reviews the 1956 edition). The remastering job is just exceptional. The songs pour out of the speakers and start the whole joint jumping. The horn sections, drums, and - most notably - the vocals have never been captured like they are on these discs. I have collected these records and artists for over 40 years and these are simply the best-sounding versions I own - even better than reissues from the original labels themselves. Younger listeners might think these are vintage recordings, good only for historical purposes. Think again, whippersnappers, these R&B hits (and a few rare cuts) are as vital today as rap and hip-hop. Check them out, you'll be "blowing a fuse" in no time."
