CD Reviews

Some crucial 80s dance tracks--the only place to get them on
Daniel W. Kelly | Long Island, NY United States | 05/19/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Don't miss out on this collection while it's still around, because it has some very rare tracks. Din Daa Daa is the most obvious hit here, but some cult tracks are also on CD in excellent digital sound. You're probably not likely to find the over-9-minute version of "Touch Me" by Wish with Fonda Rae anywhere else on CD. This track is famous for its use in the movie "Nightmare on Elmstreet 2", when Jesse is dancing in his room when he's supposed to be cleaning it...and it is also a track that was covered by and became a much bigger hit by Cathy Dennis about 5 years later. Also of note is the inclusion of both tracks from the Fancy 12" single that went to number 2 on the billboard dance charts. While most of the tracks here are full length mixes, some issues I noticed were that Fancy's "Come Inside" is the single version instead of the 9 minute US mix, Claudja Barry's "Born to Love" is the single instead of the extended version (unfortunate, since this is a Bobby O production), and Inner Life's "Let's Change it Up" is not the 12" length (it's about a minute shorter).
