"As a dance instructor I'm not going to argue with different dance enthusiasts as to what really constitutes Carolina Shag music or even Myrtle beach Shag music. One of the many forms of regional swing that dots our country, Carolina shag is "best" identified with bubble gum beach tunes from the 60's and this album is a great set of those, indeed. Perfect CD for a shag dance party with an excellent mix of tempos and moods (and yeah, like I said before, I'm perfectly aware that you could shag to country or whatever, but those styles are more identified with other forms of swing; i.e. east coast and west coast swing, texas swing, country western swing, jitterbug, rock n'roll, lindy hop and the cajun--believe it or not). 25 Songs is a heck of a lot of tunes, too. You cannot find these original albums anymore. You'd pay a lot for the collection. Many of these old standards are hard to track down, and do you really want to go to the trouble?--keep in mind that this CD will fit the bill for a deejay, a dance teacher, or even the average listener to a "T." Good stuff."
