CD Reviews

Great songs, bad mixing
Lulu | Sydney, Australia | 01/22/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Basslines is one of the best speed garage albums you can buy. What makes the album so great is the succession of fantastic tracks. Standouts include ultrafunkula, the line and love commandments. The reason Basslines does not receive 5 stars is simple- poor mixing. Songs do not blend effortlessly into one another, as they do on better compilations. Further, the last few tracks on the album are HORRIBLE. With vocals like "You are the new generation" repeated over and over in a chipmunk-esque fashion, and "Here comes the bassline" making an otherwise flawless album slightly cheesey. Nevertheless, fans of speed garage and house will thoroughly enjoy this album."

"Very catchy beats, esepcially with tracks 2,3,6,7,8, and 11. The rest are good too. Will they make another volume????"
