Album Description
Joining the dots between the digital and anologue 'Acoustic Chill' offers a much-needed alternative to the perma-frost of chill out albums currently filling the racks. Compiled by Chris Coco, one of the scene's most respected DJs and artists, the album offers tracks from the most exciting artists on both sides of the electronic/acoustic divide. Featuring tracks from Blue State and Turin Breaks together with Royksopp's sublime remix of Kings Of Convenience's 'I Don't Know What I Can Save You From', 'Acoustic Chill' is the sound of a new generation of musical pioneers. 29 tracks in all. Sony. 2002.

"What a great compilation! The CD features 30 or so UK artists, such as Kings of Convenience, Ed Harcourt, and Kathryn Williams. I had not heard of any of these artists before, and now search high and low for their individual cd's. Some songs are mellow dance-y, some are indie, some r&b-ish, some singer/songwriter-y. It's just a real nice mix of stuff, that flows beautifully from one track to the next.

My particular favorites on Acoustic Chill would include: Beautiful Crazy/The Space Raiders (r&b-ish with a nice smokey guitar riff), Always Your Way/My Vitriol (very indie, live sound), and most especially-Evening Sun by Gemma Hayes-a sweet little track-acoustic guitar and acoustic bass-sounds live. It's such a simple song with awesome lyrics.

Buy this CD. Turn off the TV and chill..."
