CD Reviews

NASA !

"It was after Xmas and I was in a local music store, looking for interesting albums. When this strange glowing jewel case caught my eye. It was neon green, and glowing, with the words "Acid Resistant". I put it back thinking, I'll get that nice Moby album instead. But in a moment of madness I bought "Acid Resistant". Well I got it home and listend to it, it well to put it blutntly I hated it the first time. But I read the liner notes and realzied that this odd little album of sucky acid house had a story. This album is linked to one of the first weekly raves in NYC the now famous NASA at The Shelter. This album touched on the raver in me in a hard way. I fell in love with it. It was old skool underground stuff. Stuff I hadn't heard in years. If your a raver, you must have this. No real raver should be without this in there collection. The music is great. it has a wonderful warm sound to it. It has a nice sweet and uptempo texture and The mix is great. The album goes from sweet melodies to hard acid and ends on a downtempo note. Great flow and a great mixing. You can just see thousands of ravers at the shelter just dancing and loving to this music. Once again an essential album if your a raver"
DJ DB Way back when...
A Techno Head | San Francisco, CA | 11/25/1999

"This cd mixed by DJ DB will surely not disappoint any techno fan. I myself have been hard into techno and dance culture for nearly 8 years and I still consider this CD one my all-time favorites. If you know who DB is then you'll know he's formerly of the NY based Sm:)e (smile) label and is now strict jungle DJ running his own successful label F-111 Records. The mixing is adequete and the song selection is quite original, consisting mainly of unique German techno. It starts out smooth and melodic and quickly builds into some hard acid stompers and sharp aggressive grooves with multiple tracks from Mike Ink/Love Inc, Walker, Jammin Unit, and Bizz O.D. You may learn that many of these artists worked together to produce several of the tracks played on the CD under different production titles. It's quite fascinating to hear it all in one mix and you'll find that it works brilliantly. Don't let the eccentricity of German techno fool you into thinking it's 'weird stuff', because it will surely appeal to hard house, progressive house, and even trance fans. It's a definate floor filler at any get-together =)"
For all those hater on this cd.

"People, this is one of the best dance cds I ever held in my possession. I am a house head to the core and yet out of all the house/acid cds I own, this is my all time favorite. It warms you in the beginning and then takes you into a harder beats and brings you down to the finale, all in a seemless manner. Kinda like a acid trip! LOL. This cd was stolen from me and now I am here to buy it again for the second time around and I am just as excited to get as though it was the 1st time ever!"
