CD Reviews

Better than yourr average NOW for the US market

"As with the US NOW compilations, the UK albums have an eclectic mixture of pop stylings. Unlike the US NOW comps, you get 2 CD and often more recent tracks. Here's the line-upDisc: 1
1. Heaven - DJ Sammy (that catchy dance remake of the Bryan Adams hit, and a US top 10)2. Asereje - Las Ketchup (That ketchup song you'll be dancing to at every wedding from now till 2010.)3. Love To See You Cry - Enrique Iglesias (Can anyone explain his caterwaling at the end of this song? Sounds like tortured cats.)4. Round Round - Sugababes (Their previous hit, Freak Like Me, is starting to get some airplay on US commercials.)5. The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling) - Atomic Kitten (OK remake of the Blondie hit, but nothing new)6. One Love - Blue (Currently the UK's most successful boyband)7. Colourblind - Darius (He came 3rd in the UK "Idol" show, but wrote this himself. Better than expected)8. What I Go To School For - Busted (yawn. pre-teen pap)9. Got To Have Your Love - Liberty X
10. It's All Gravy - Romeo Feat Christina Milian
11. I'm Right Here - Samantha Mumba
12. What You Got - Abs13. I Love Rock 'N' Roll - Britney Spears (for both the fans who still care)14. Automatic High - S Club Juniors (more pre-teen pap)15. Come Into My World - Kylie Minogue
16. My Vision - Jakatta Feat Seal
17. Music Gets The Best Of Me - Sophie Ellis Bextor
18. Heart Of Gold - Kelly Llorenna
19. Walk On Water - Milk Inc20. Because The Night - Jan Wayne (remake of the Patti Smyth or 10,000 Maniac song, depending on your generation)21. Pray - Lasgo
22. Posse - Scooter

Disc: 2
1. In My Place - Coldplay (Great band, great track)2. Little By Little - Oasis (Best Oasis track in years)3. Electrical Storm - U2 (so if you don't want to by the Greatest Hits...)4. Hero - Chad Kroeger Feat Josey Scott (... or the Spiderman soundtrack.)5. Check The Meaning - Richard Ashcroft (former leader of The Verve - remember Bittersweet Symphony?)6. Imagine - Eva Cassidy (Lennon's classic interpreted by a great singer)7. A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton (guaranteed a Grammy nod for Song of the Year.)8. You were Right - Badly Drawn Boy
9. I Love It When We Do - Ronan keating
10. Fantasy - Appleton (the twins from All Saints)
11. Dy-Na-Mi-Tee - Ms Dynamite
12. Feel It Boy - Beenie Man Feat Janet Jackson
13. James Dean (I Wanna Know) - Daniel Bedingfield (fun follow-up to "Gotta Get Through This")14. Without Me - Eminem (his first solo appearance on a NOW, although D12 were on an earlier set. Hilarious.)15. She Hates Me - Puddle Of Mudd (censored version)16. Girl all The Bad Guys Want - Bowling For Soup (How did American radio miss this? It's absolutely terrific!)17. Grace - Supergrass
18. Jam Side Down - Status Quo
19. Fascinated - Raven Maize
20. Shiny Disco Balls - Who Da Funk Feat Jessica Eve
21. Starry Eyed Surprise - Oakenfold (Lead singer of Crazy Town ("Butterfly") does vocals over England's biggest DJ)"
This is the best current hits compilation available anywhere

"I have been listening to music for many years, and I own a pile of compilation CDs. Most are fairly good, and some suffer from the different styles of songs not flowing properly, or too many soupy ballads together, or something like that. This one, imported from the UK, is the best NOW I have heard from any market, either US, Asia, or the previous 28 I own in the UK series (NOW 39, if you can find it, also ranks up very highly!)
So, if you want a good listening experience that gives a good overview of the current music scene, push that buy now button!"
