The 'Valanti concept' is described as a belief that `overpowering keyboards and intricate sounds belong in rock music'. This is both a statement of the obvious and rather ambiguous at the same time. I guess what Valanti are trying to say is that they're not particular fans of cock rock, and they like Blondie. Valanti actually has a fair bit in common with Blondie and No Doubt, apart from the obvious singular female vocalist. Musically, there are many other similarities. Valanti is both the band name and surname of Chrissa (vocals), the only female member, and a bombshell at that (all she needs is some tatts). It seems she is very much at the wheel as far as creative control goes, and if Valanti markets itself right, the band could prove a very successful commercial venture. Wilson Ave. 2005.
