"I'm from Poland from the same city that Vader is. I listen to them from the beginning till now, they rulez...."
The best cover cd ever

"This cd is bad ass...Not a bad song on the disc. Vader does Kreator, Sabbath, Sodom, Possessed...You gotta love that. And the drumming alone is enough to pick this cd up. Doc is nuts, he has three legs. Great disc. \m/"
A Look into what created Vader
Gunther Haagendazs | Up High in the Trees | 03/15/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Most cover albums are a look into what created the band that covers them. Future of the Past is no exception. It's an excellent look into what created Vader, one of my personal favorite Death Metal bands. It features songs originally done by (in this order) Sodom, Kreator, Terrorizer, Possessed, Terrorizer (again), Dark Angel, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Anti Nowhere League, Depeche Mode and of course Black Sabbath. Every song rules in its own way and Doc's drumming was insane at all possible moments on the album. The flaw is that the album's production could have been a little better and it is most noticeable when listening to Peter's vocals. They are somewhat muffled and do not sound nearly as good in comparison to other albums. However because Black Sabbath was on their Sothis EP (an earlier recording) the production is better and it is an excellent cover of a classic metal song. The song I.F.Y. is a cover of I Feel You by Depeche Mode, except with rewritten lyrics to sound rather demonic. We Are The League follows a similar route.

If you are a big Vader fan then pick this up quickly. If you are new to Vader I recommend some of their other releases before getting a covers album, like Black to the Blind for example. The Japanese Import comes with a bonus track titled Oracle. I have no idea what it sounds like, whether it's any good (probably is), or what band did the original. For some reason the Japanese always get the best deals. Anyways, not the best Vader album quality wise, but it's still awesome and it's cool to hear Vader play these songs as well as they do especially Silent Scream (Doc's drumming is insanely fast on that Slayer cover). I suggest you hear the originals first if you can. Hoped"
