Shoegaze transcends its British influences and resurfaces in Asia with the compilation Half Dreaming, featuring sixteen bands and sixteen new, unreleased, or re-recorded tracks. Some of these artists are well known in the Asian indie music scene and others about to debut, but all betray their debt to such seminal bands as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and the Cocteau Twins. The shoegaze/dreampop scene in Asia is burgeoning; Half Dreaming surveys this new scene and provides a neat sampling of the artists reviving the genre.
