CD Reviews

Progressive Trance
M. Randall | Allen Park, MI | 09/13/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"What we have here is a single from Urban Voodoo. A lot of folks may remember this artist from the Mortal Kombat Annhilation soundtrack with their catchy track, Brutality. They also had a album that same year. Their music was along the lines of indsutrial rock with some hip hop thrown in at times. All in all, it was good music. So what happened? Beats me. They dissapeared for about 5 years and re-surfaced with this CD single in 2002. Don't be fooled by the same ol Urban Voodoo logo... This music is nothing like the 1997 band you remember. This is progressive trance. Music made for clubs. There is no singing, but there is a deep voiced fellow throwing out some words. Do I like this new Urban Voodoo music? Yes. Did I like the old style better? Yep. Is it impossible to find information on this artist online? Definitley.

If you like what you hear on this single, the "new" Urban Voodoo has several other singles out in this style. However they are on vinyl only. Destiny and Fly With Me are the only I know of. As for their 1997 music, good luck finding the album."
