Janitor X | The Mountains | 02/06/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"After Bobby Steele was booted out of the Misfits, to be replaced by Doyle, he formed the Undead. There were hard feelings and fierce competition between the Misfits and the Undead. The end result was great recordings from both camps. The Misfits were a better band, but the Undead was a close second.
"Dawn of The Undead" has all of the best songs by the Undead. The Undead has a 50's style rock-a-billy sound topped with Steele's gravely, punk vocals. The lyrics are anthems that are made to sing along to, especially "Misfit". "F**kin' people that I see, always f**kin' staring at me!" Steele's lyrics are not horror-movie focused like the Misfits were. He writes lyrics that are more traditional punk, focusing on personal struggles against people and society. "Never Say Die", ""My Kinda Town", and "I Want You Dead" foreshadow the type of attitude Steele has.
Why the Misfits became more popular than the Undead is beyond me. In the very early eighties the Undead was just as big as the Misfits for good reason."
Quality music we;'ve come to expect from Bobby Steele.

"After being kicked out of the legendary band The Misfits Bobby didn't disappear to never be seen again like long lost other misfits members. He went and started his own band The Undead. With only a couple songs on this cd like his "old" band Bobby uses the same misfits sound to create catchy sing along punk rock songs. A must have for any punk or Misfits fan."
The Undead are he Best I have heard of this kind of music ie

"Better than the Misfits, I would see this band every night of the week if they ever played-a friend of mine did and said it was worth going a long way from home aand buying a plane ticket to see them Every song on this CD is cool you won't be skipping tracks at all. Buy this!"
