Geetz,
The U-Krew did not split up. They were screwed over by their record company. They stayed together and tried to sign with a different label but could not get signed due to still having to pay royalties to their record label even if they signed with another. It was in the fine print of their contract. So all you just making it musicians out there...READ THE FINE PRINT! It ruined their career as a band bc no other record label was willing to sign them and pay royalties to anither record label. Thanks for being a fan!

Wow, I am surprised to see that I am the first reviewer! The U Krew split after this first record, made in 1989... Their main song was "If You Were Mine" which was such a great song, that I had to hunt this record down!

Since there are no sound clips, hopefully you have heard this song before and thought it was great! They also have "Let Me Be Your Lover" which had a video for it as well. (You can watch them at yahoo's music video section to listen to these two songs)

This cd is good...I am slightly disappointed that "If You Were Mine" is not the same version as the radio version. It is slightly different-not as pounding and forceful, but still a nice listen. "Let Me Be Your Lover" is another great New Jack Swing type song...very funky..

Obviously you are here because you remember the U Krew. I didn't know their name until I searched on yahoo, typing in lyrics hoping to see if their was a familiar sounding name!

This cd is funky, and for the low used prices, worth it for "If You Were Mine" alone!

I didn't know their name until now. In 1992 I heard the song if u were mine for the first time in the movie Ironheart (1992, starring Britton K. Lee & Bolo Yeung). The one from the movie is quite different (more a funky danceclassic tune) than on this CD. When I heard it i was looking and looking for an artist name, never found it until now! I hope i can get it somewhere, i'll let you know!
