"You may have already been lucky enough to have heard Twinstar - the WB network has recently featured the song "Or So It Seems" on promos for its shows "Gilmore Girls" and "Smallville." I should mention that I didn't learn this fact from a press release, but because I instantly recognized the tune's haunting melody and passionate vocals - the result of listening to the CD constantly since I bought it. I don't say this lightly. I hear a lot of music. A lot. But rarely do I find something as special as Twinstar's self-titled record -- something that really grips me and stimulates me on an emotional level. Part moody pop, part thoughtful rock, "Twinstar" is a creative masterpiece from vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Keith Joyner, bassist Chris Candelaria and drummer/programmer Andy Kubiszewski. Every song delivers wonderful moments -- the chorus in "Muse" is one of the prettiest I've heard in a long time. As much as NIN's "Downward Spiral" was a horror movie, "Twinstar" is an intelligent film noir, mysterious, poetic, beautiful, exciting, dramatic. A true work of art, "Twinstar" is everything a record should be."
