CD Reviews

Twinkie, what an "Awesome" album.

"The Clark Sisters are still the Premier #1 Female Singing Group of Gospel Music. They have truly layed the foundation of what the other contemporary female solo artists and groups are producing today. These Women of the Gospel have started this Looooong time ago. I love the musicality, creativity and the anointing that supports it. I'm sure that if Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and Pastor Elbert Clark would be here, they would be proud of their daughters. Twinkie, your COGIC flavor style of playing the organ on "Christ is Coming Back Again" is just sooooo Da Bomb! I purchased this CD at the mall (Sam Goody) and they only ordered one album for the whole store and it was so ironic that I bought it. God has a way of doing things. I am waiting for the video. I am studying the Clark Sisters harmony and Twinkie style of playing. Mind you, I have a collection: Is My Living In Vain, You Brought the Sunshine, Bringing it Back Home, Count it All Joy, Gospel (1982), COGIC Int'l Mass Choir with Twinkie singing and playing for Elder R. White, Miracle, The Masterpiece, Finally Karen, Florida A & M, 2nd Chance, and now I have this album. I just ordered "He Gave Me Nothing To Lose." This album is really nice. But I'm in love with more of the old songs and Twinkie chords driving it with her turning the vibrato swell and great off. Organists, if any of you want an anointed style of playing, pray but keep in mind Twinkie Clark, meaning listen to her but incorporate her style into developing your own style. I am telling you, the Spirit of God is good ALL BY ITSELF but there is nothing like some good old school and contemporary organ music when the service gets high. I've learned and still learning to use the organ to evangelize in a service or whatever instrument that I may play; and to be watchful of the spirit by watching and praying. I am 18 years old. I've been playing since I was three and they put me on the organ at church when I was eight. I'm telling you, Twinkie Clark, the girl is BAD and she is a spiritual organist role model in my life because she is under the inspiration, dedication, and the anointing of the Holy Ghost. I can tell in her songwriting and her playing. I'm quite sure that she has had an "Overdose of the Holy Ghost" and I know that she is ENDOWED, and she will be as long as she is in the "Center of thy Will." Please if you or the Clark Sisters ever tour, come to the New Orleans area; and you have to play. I really wish that you and Moses Tyson can get together and produce an organ CD of songs and praise break. This album is really tight! I love when you all bring back some of the old songs on the newer albums. Keep it Up and Keep it On. May God Bless you and May God Keep you."
Twinkie's Back
Timothy A. Dillinger | Nashville, TN United States | 09/19/2002

"Twinkie is back...and in full effect...This collection of songs is definitely her strongest yet in her solo career...Her first two solo efforts leaned heavily on the contemporary (and synthesized) side and her third, The Masterpiece, leaned her in a contemporary jazz setting that displayed her brilliance, but left the listener wanting some infamous Clark fire. This project provides just that. It is the older material (Endow Me, Pray For The USA, Jesus Is Coming Soon and It Won't Be Long) that will hook the listener...The organ solo on "Coming Soon" is worth the price of the CD...
I do hope, however, that on the next project, Twinkie can focus on writing some new material that rivals the fire of the OLDER material that very much carries this album. Twinkie is a brilliant writer...and I long to see her create some new gems birthed from the same place as "Endow Me", "Name It, Claim It" and the other classics that placed The Clarks at the top of the gospel world..."
Twinkie's got it going on!

"Twinkie Clark has a beautiful, anointed voice. This new CD is amazing. She takes me into a higher place of praise and worship on this new CD. I really love the song, "Worship the King". This song blesses me everytime I hear it. "I'll never cease to worship King Jesus!" I really love how she just let's go and let's God does his thing. I also love the first song on the CD, "Jesus Saves". I'm very impressed by the reunion with her sisters on "Endow Me". That song is the bomb! I really like her CD and I believe that anyone who buys it will be truly, bountifully blessed. ```````Twinkie, Keep singing your song. You got it going on!"
