CD Reviews

Twila Serving Her Lord and Savior
John Wicklund | Twin Cities, MN United States | 04/12/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Twila Paris is the real thing. This album is an understated collection of hymns that are rich in truth and praise. Some of these may become regular church standards in coming years. I don't entirely like the direction Christian music has been taking as of late. However, Twila Paris has restored my belief that their are still Christian artists who are still aware of the purpose of why they were given their musical gifts and talents. Nice job Twila and I believe the Lord would tell you about this work, "Well done, true and faithful servant.""
Twila Still Writes Great Worship Music
Mark Baker | Santa Clarita, CA United States | 10/21/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"With all the artists releasing CD's devoted to worship music, it only makes sense that Twila Paris would release one of her own. Ever since her first CD came out over 20 years ago, she's has been known for her worshipful lyrics and has contributed a number of songs to modern hymn books and worship services. In fact, two of the twelve new songs featured here are new recording of her classics "We Bow Down" and "We Will Glorify." The other 10 songs are all new and all penned by this master songwriter. This CD probably represents the greatest range of topics for a worship CD. There are songs that focus on who God is ("God of All," "For Eternity," "Glory and Honor,") but also songs that are prayers to live as God would have us live ("Come Emmanuel," "Fill My Heart," "Make Us One") and reminders that we as Christians live new lives ("Not My Own" and "Christ in Us.")My only complaint about this project will be nothing new to Twila's fans (and I consider myself one.) Her worship songs have always had a lot of repetition to them. Before, it hasn't been as noticeable because they've been mixed in with regular songs. Here, it's much more obvious and begins to wear on my before it's all over. Still, there are some great songs that I'm sure will become church standards in the near future."
Superlative music and lyrics from a great artist
M Viljoen | CAPE Town. Mother city of the Rep. of South Afric | 08/21/2004

"This latest album of Twila Paris has surpassed all my favourite songwriters and singers of worship and praise music. I have great albums from Brian Doerksen, Geoff Bullock, Matt Redman, Michael W. Smith, Carman, The Newsboys and many more but this album outshines them all!!

I have every album that Twila Paris has ever brought out and her amazing talent just keeps getting better and better.

We have been singing 'We Bow Down' and 'We Will Glorify' for a number of years in our church and I never knew that they had been written by my favourite female artist. I am sure that many more of the songs on this album are going to make their way into our church's praise and worship services.

One reviewer mentioned that many of the songs have repetitive words, I would suggest that this is part of many wonderful praise and worship songs.

The blend of Twila's magical voice, the backing orchestra and supporting vocals are just majestic and turn our hearts to woship our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. There cannot ever be too many songs writen and sung to His honour and glory.

What more can I say? This is a true masterpiece of musical adoration. The Lord bless you richly Twila Paris for your dedication in using your talents for the Lord."
