CD Reviews

Excellent Album

"I am elated to now have this album on c.d. Best of Friends came out right about the time I was graduating from high school and I borrowed it from my brother to combine with others for a mix tape. I liked this album so much that I included every track from it (with the exception of Peanut Butter) on my tape! I am a huge fan of Lenny White because of this album. Having been exposed to different types of music at a young age, I have an appreciation for artists who can play different genres of music. Lenny is one of those artists, and he blends styles so perfectly, it's hard not to find something you like on his records. My favorite cuts on this album are Betta and Best of Friends, two very beautifully written (and performed!) songs. Thankfully, Tropical Nights was included to satisfy the jazz-lover in me! In my opinion, ALL of the tunes on this album were arranged with great perfection and are very pleasant listening. I rank this one as one of the best in my entire music collection and is a treasure to own on c.d.!"
Peanut Butter is still the Jam!

"I'm surprised no one has written a review about this album. Truthfully I purchased "Best of Friends" for the classic funk hit "Peanut Butter". But Lenny White and Twennynine cranked out a few gem on their debut. I highly recommend tracks 2-5 (with PB being #4). A must listen if you're a fan of the jazz- funk fusion genre."
