CD Reviews

Decent,but...
Motion | Carrollton Georgia | 07/07/2003
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I consider this a decent CD overall, but I don't feel it's as consistent as their first two. Their first two albums,"Danger Zone" & "Back To Wreck Shop" had that classic feel to them like many albums from the late 80's. On this CD they don't have some of the rappers who were on the first two albums, and they don't have the Dj from the first two albums either. They have a new rapper named Smooth K who holds his own. One thing I noticed about this CD was that unlike their first two CDs,where they were able to be "street" without being gangsta,on this CD they seem to have got on the gangsta Rap bandwagon that was becomimng popular at that time around 91. That's one of the things I didn't care for. I wished that they had kept the flavor of "Back To Wreck Shop",which was hard, street and Funky, and had more lyrical style than this album. "Whole Shabang" & "Munkee Bizniss" are the only two songs that remind me of the style of their first two albums. So like I said, it's a decent CD,but less consistent lyrically and production wise than their first two."
