CD Reviews

The King Of Crunk & BME Recordings Present...
Ludacris88 | New York | 11/19/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"No offense to Lil Jon, but this CD is better than Put Your Hood Up & Kings Of Crunk

Everyone should know that I wouldn't rate a crunk album like I would rate, for example, a Nas album, because people wouldn't be buying an album like this for lyrical ability, even though this CD isn't bad lyrically

(Whole album produced by Lil Jon, except for Diamonds In My Pinky Ring-Jo "Da Bingo" Bing)

Trillville

1.Trillville Radio-Skit

2.Neva Eva ft.Lil Scrappy & Lil Jon-5/5-Trillville's first single, I liked it better then Head Bussa

3.Get Some Crunk In Yo System ft.Pastor Troy-5/5-I heard they released this as a single, but never saw a video or heard it on the radio, I think this only non BME click guest appearence on here

4.Goodbye-Skit

5.Weakest Link-5/5-You'd think that it would be really stupid that a crunk rap group is taking a phrase from a british game show host, but this is a great song

6.Bathroom-Skit

7.B*tch N****s-4/5-Good song

8.Dookie Love-Skit

9.Some Cut ft.Cutty-5/5-My favorite song on the Trillville side of the album, great production and flow on this one. I think this might be the new single

10.The Hood-4/5-More lyrical song, but good. Signature Lil Jon production with guitars

Lil' Scrappy

11.Crank It-Skit

12.What The F***-3.5/5-Good, but my worst favorite on the album

13.Head Bussa-5/5-Great song, but as I said not as good as Trillville's first single

14.Bootleg-Skit

15.No Problem-5/5-My second favorite on the Lil Scrappy side, ended up being a huge single

16.Dookie Love Public Service Announcement-Skit

17.F.I.L.A. (Forever I Love Atlanta)-4.5/5-Nice production, ended up leading to a shoe deal with FILA

18.Crunk Radio-Skit

19.Diamonds In My Pinky Ring-5/5-My favorite song on the Lil Scrappy side, features guests not listed, but a great song

20.Be Real-4.5/5-Some more of Lil Jon's signature rock/rap production, good lyrically for a crunk album

Bonus Track

21.Gone-Lil Scrappy & Trillville Ft.Bohagon-3.5/5-Good song, Bohagon is pretty good and I think is on all Lil Jon albums

"The rest of the songs on this cd are trash, theres only 2 good songs out of 21,and they have Lil jon in them. Neva Eva and Head Bussa. The rest of the beats have potential, but they start slow and never pick up, and barely change from the start. alot of the songs are skits too, so there are really like 14 songs. These guys also have no lyrical skills.Save your money."
Really Crunk Album

"Overall, I have to say this is one of the crunkest albums ever. The production for both Lil'Scrappy and Trillville is excellent, the beats alone will make you wanna listen to the songs. The lyrics are not classic, but they are a little above average. Trillville Songs:
Trillville make the songs that I really like, I think they are just a bit better than Lil' Scrappy. Like I said before, the production is superb, making you wanna jump to the music. The lyrics in my opinion are just lacking Lil' Scrappy's, but the lyrics are still enjoyable. The 5 best songs or interludes are: "Weakest Link" is the best (just in my opinion), basically talking about haters, the chorus to the song makes it listenable already, with a nice beat provided by Lil' Jon. "Neva Eva" is their first single, and it's really good, even though I really never heard it or seen the video before I bought the CD, but it's still in the top 5, and a good choice for a single. "The Hood" is another about haters, which is what the whole CD is about, and it really doesn't have a chorus, it's just Lil' Jon talking for a bout 20 seconds, nice lyrics too. "Get Some Crunk In Yo System" will definatly put some crunk in yo system, this probably the best song to jump and dance too, it'll definatly get you movin. The intro, "Tillville Radio" is the funniest skit on the album, with a broadcastor askin for callers to tell someone to "Get on their level" The woman that calls is just hilarious, you won't skip this, or any other skit for that case. On a last note, "Some Cut" gets a skip. It's about women and sex, but that's what every album has anymore, you come to expect it, but I just don't like the song. The lyrics are lacking.Lil' Scrappy songs:
This is actually, I think, where the album slows down a bit. It still crunk an' all, but I'm just not feelin his stuff as much as Trillville right now. The best song on his part is "What The F**k", which has a killer beat and chorus which will keep you listening, and his lyrics are way above average, but nowhere near perfect. "Be Real" is nice, actually different from the other songs bcause of the subject matter, his encouraging you to be what you wanna be, and do what you wanna do, even though those thing you wanna be and do are sort of unnacceptable. The beat provided by Lil' Jon definatly matches the song. The bonus track, "Gone" is also a favorite, the chorus is great, and the lyrics are very nice, making this a nice way to end the CD.So, if you are into Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boys, or even the Ying Yang Twins, you should cop this now. The whole album is crunk. The only thing wrong is the skits. Trillville has more I think, or they might have the same number, but Trillville's are funny, making you listen to them, while Lil' Scrappy's aren't that good. But Overall, this is a nice album, where they can actually rap and get you crunk at the same time, so this is a recommended album, especially if you want to throw a party."
