CD Reviews

It doesn't get much better than this

"Buy this CD nowStart with great song writing. The songs go from splendidly goofy to serious and reflective. Not a weak song on the disk.Next you have the band whose musicianship is fantastic. Steve the drummer is solid as a rock; a subtle brilliance of sorts. Next you have Yianni on bass who is laying down so very hip stuff without being too busy or too funky (where did you come up with that Sound of Sleep bass line !?! Wow!). Pete rounds it out with some really nice, nice guitar. Carla's beautiful voice is enough to sell the whole disk. These guys are truly unique but still very catchy and listenable. Also these aren't your typical sing-songy tunes. They have some real depth to them. You can listen to the disk over and over and gain new appreciation for them instead of tiring of them. It would be difficult to pick a sigle off this awesome collection. Finally, considering that this disk appears to be bordering a home studio project, it's sonically amazing. Clean and tasteful production. There's a certain symmetry and balance to the songs even though they take you in many directions. That's not easy to do.Rock on Travis Pickle!"

"Travis Pickle is one of New York City's most inspired bands. I have seen them play numerous times in Manhattan's hotest clubs- including two New Years Eve shows that helped me relive the memories I couldn't remember. Their debut album is a must have and is the freshest new sound in town in a while."
Holy Smoke! They are amazing!

"I first heard a song of theirs on some Edward Norton movie, so of course I wanted more. I amazon dot commed them, bought the album and can't for the life of me understand why this didn't become the album of the year.

"Motorcycle Man" I still can't get out of my head. Four years later!

I'm only sorry they haven't put out anything since.

Buy this album!"
