CD Reviews

Overdue Review.

(3 out of 5 stars)

"Let me clear up something first. I noticed there is another band with the name Transition, so I want to make sure there isn't any confusion. This review is about Transition, a mid-90's metal band from San Francisco.(And when I say metal, I mean Metallica-style metal.)

Ok, now that we got that out of the way, let's get on with it. Transition was a good metal band that had the misfortune to be a little too far ahead of the times. I think if this album came out today, it would be huge. It came out in 1994, though, and that was when grunge was in. Metal was pretty much being ignored. "Spine" is a fast little blast of heavy riffs and incredible lyrics. The lyrics are really amazing. Very poetic. The album has 9 tracks and they fly by really quickly. To me the standout tracks are "Ride My Own Spine", "Salt The Sores", and "Neveragaining", which I think is my favorite song on the album. If you are a metal fan(and again I'm talking about the harder, heavier stuff,) I think you might want to check this out. As far as I know, the band is no longer around and this is the only thing they ever put out. Pick it up.
