CD Reviews

One of the best live bands you never saw
Richard Nieto | Chicago | 04/30/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I also saw Trailer Hitch many many times, mainly because after you saw them once you made sure you never missed them again. It was never anything short of a spectacle. Whether it was in store at Quaker Goes Deaf Records where they set off firecrackers, or on stage at the Double Door with beautiful girls jumping on stage and ripping their tops off while the band fell all over each other but never missed a beat. If people threw bottles at them they chucked them right back. The energy and madness at their shows will surely be missed. I drank with them before shows on occasion and they were really great guys very down to earth and fun to hang out with but when they got onstage another spirit possesed them entirely and they were madmen! (which is what you want in a stage show.) Their singer coming out with a horses head and hoofs on and pulling raw pig intestines out of his pants slowly at first everyone thought he was doing an iggy and pulling "it" out but then it kept coming and coming until you realized it was something else! Altogether just insane. And the music was driving like a trucker on amphetamines and whiskey. These guys put on some of the best shows I ever saw. Sure its been done before but not always as well as these guys did it! Newt, please reform the band and put on some more live shows the boring Chicago music scene needs you guys like a crack whore needs the money! This CD is worth it just for the track "Get your Cold beer""
Trailer Hitch is inbred GWAR redneck rock

"Chicago is blessed again after such other bands as Big Black, Naked Raygun, the Jesus Lizard, Rapeman have come and gone. These guys seem to roll it all into one big production. I have seen these guys a dozen times and have never been disappointed. They put on a stage show that can't be missed... I can't believe there is any such thing as a bad show. The music is one thing, but to combine it with their on-stage antics is something else. They crank in out with killer riffs, heavy bass, and a drummer that occasionally sports a mexican wrestling mask.
CHECK THEM OUT!"
