Joyride!

"Toy-Box is amazing! I loved their first album, Fantastic, though I have lost it now. It was really good, especially 'Tarzan And Jane' which I think is everyone's favourite. Their new album, ToyRide, is just as good, though. Here is a review of each song:-
1)Superstar: A really good song, explains what most Superstars think of themselves; THE BEST!!
2)Russian Lullaby: A very nice lullaby, though one thing I'm not satisfied with is: it doesn't make you go to sleep!
3)www.girl: A really cool song. Cyber cool!
4)007: The best song on the album! I love the chorus; 'Take me to Heaven, Mr.007...'
5)Cowboy Joe: A very peppy song, good for dancing. A real wild-west experience!
6)Dumm-Diggy-Dum: Another peppy, dance song.
7)Wizard Of Oz: A very magical song, Anila is really good.
8)Divided: A love song, I like the part where the guy is speaking to the Answering Machine.
9)Prince Of Arabia: I really like this song, the music is very good and the lyrics are nice, too.
10)S.O.S: A cool song, very Cops and Robbers!
11)No Sleep: Another love song, though they should stick to the Dance ones.
12)Finally: Yet another love song, though this one is real nice.Toy-Box is really good; especially Anila. I don't understand why they don't show their videos on TV and all, 'cause they're really good."
The Unthinkable.....A Toy Box Sequel.

"After a 3 year absence from the worldwide music scene, Danish dance duo Toy Box return with a new full-length album. Titled "Toy Ride", Anila and Amir return just where they left off a few years ago. They continue their trend of "musical vignettes", as opposed to just simply album tracks. Despite my initial excitement over this new album, I finally came to realize that it is, in fact, an inferior album to their last one. I do give credit (and 3 stars) to the fact that Toy Box gives us an album this time around with mostly dance music. With their freshman effort "Fantasic", there was a lot of filler and an emphasis on ballads. But where I do find fault here is with the good songs. They are just that....good. They are nothing awesome or amazing. Just good. These good songs include SUPERSTAR(#1), RUSSIAN LULLABY(#2), HTTP://WWW.GIRL(#3) and WIZARD OF OZ(#7). You will not be completely enthused with them. But you won't mind listening to them either. They just aren't as foot-tappingly good as the dance pieces from the previous record. SUPERSTAR is a cute song in which Anila and Amir are big movie stars. It took a few listens to really grow on me, but it finally works for me. RUSSIAN LULLABY is okay, but it really is an unnecessary remake of the popular E-Type song. It is just slightly more synthesized than E-Type's version. HTTP://WWW.GIRL is instantly likeable and recognizable as a Toy Box hit. It opens with Anila typing on the computer, when she suddenly breaks out into the familiar beats of a great track by this European duo. It is probably my favorite track on here. WIZARD OF OZ is good too. It doesn't really have to do with "The Wizard Of Oz" as we know it. It is more a magical journey in which Anila meets a wizard and wants him to make her into a "special girl". Typical Toy Box nonsense! The rest of the songs are fine -007(#4),COWBOY JOE(#5), PRINCE OF ARABIA(#9), S.O.S.(#10) and FINALLY(#12) or just complete crud - DUM-DIGGY-DUM(#6), DIVIDED(#8) and NO SLEEP(#11). "Toy Ride" is probably not deserving of my 3 stars due to its extreme lack of any stand-out track or any real creativity. However, I have to give the 3 stars just due to the fact that Toy Box gives us an album full of dance music, and I can't argue with that. Toy Box fans should buy this, but go into it realizing the the songs are pretty average."

This CD is so addictive. When I first got it I had it on 24/7. It's definately on the same level as their first album. Anyone who isn't a fan of their ballads will be happy to hear that there is only one, yes, only one on this album. I personally love their ballads but some people hate them. I will say that they do end the CD with you wanting more, Finally is a great song. I would write a review on each song, but it would be very repetitive, I loved it all. Each song does a different flavor to it, so some days you may find youself addicted to one song, and the next dying to hear the one you avoided the day before."
