"If you like early thrash like Dark Angel, Sacrifice, Destruction, Show No Mercy-Slayer, then check us out."

"I first heard about Storm Alert in BW&BK a few weeks ago; it received a very positve review so I picked it up and all I can say is: This is an outstanding album. Anyone who grew up on 80's metal (like me), specifically the mid to late 80's Bay Area Thrash scene (Metallica, Exodus, Testament, etc.) should love this. Not a single weak song; every one is killer. Thrashy, catchy, complex but never in a boring way, and there is even a Christmas anthem! You can definitely hear their influences (Slayer, Priest, Metallica), but the cool thing is that they don't sound like any other band; they sound like Torture. If that makes sense. Most of the songs don't follow the verse, chorus, verse, chorus, brigde, verse, chorus model, and each song is unique in it's own right. While they keep every song up-tempo, this is not an album with 11 songs that sound exactly the same. Not to worry, thrash fans - while being unique, each song is filled with enough heavy yet memorable riffs to keep any headbanger happy. Hell, it's only about the 4th album that has prompted me to get off my lazy ass and write a review on Amazon, so that right there should tell ya something. Now, I don't want to go off on a rant here, but...this was originally released in 1989? How is Storm Alert not an all time classic up there with Master of Puppets or Reign in Blood? How did I not know about this band? Were they buried by their record company in the wake of grunge? Did someone get abducted by aliens? Was there jail time involved? With so many half-ass and no-ass bands having multiple album catalogues, how is it that I'm only hearing these songs 17 years after they were originally released??? I want answers dammit! OK, end of rant. In all seriousness, this is an absolute classic thrash album that anyone who is a fan of the genre should definitely own."
