Synopsis

Album Description
Named after the fun-loving 17th Century serial perjurer and Catholic-bater Titus Oates, the eponymous Dallas-based rock combo released this lone psychedelic album on the Lips label in 1974. The album, which is extremely well recorded, has, despite the band's Texan origins, a decidedly West Coast feel. Although their Southern roots do occasionally come to the surface in the form of some excellent Allman Brothers-style dual-guitar interludes and a couple of heavy bass riff-focused power tunes. Radioactive.

CD Reviews

Solid southern rock without redneckisms
Warren Rhodesia | NYC | 07/06/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"An overall very good classic southern rock kind of sound. Good guitar and band playing, decent vocals, tunes and lyrics. Not necessarily essential, but if you've got all the Potliquor, Wet Willie and White Witch records, you probably should have this. CAVEAT: This was mastered from an LP, not tape and the record skips on track 6 at 3:29! Sucks!"
