CD Reviews

Just Great Songs
Dave Campbell | Louisville, KY | 06/27/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is just a collection of really great songs. I'm not an expert on songwriting, but I can tell you these songs get your foot tapping, your head swaying, and you're soon singing along with the catchy and inspired but not sappy lyrics. These are songs that reflect an everyman approach to life. We all have someone in mind for "Who You Think You Are" (how dare they start a party without You), and most of us have 'fell down' a time or two like "Fell Down in Memphis".To me, Tim has mastered the essence of good songwriting. Songs that you like the first time you hear them, that you can relate to personally, and that you want to hear again. And again. But great songs also demand great performers...and this is no exception. Straight ahead rock guitar doesn't get much better than this...Tim's been on top of that game a long while. A few innovations, but primarily a steady stream of solid sound. Hints of Joe Walsh, Warren Zevon, and other guitar greats are clear on many tracks. This guy's been a staple in my part of the country for years, but I only recently discovered him. I'm sorry I waited this long. This CD will stay on my favorites list a very long time. Certainly until the next Krekel release."
Tim Krekel's Happy Town Rocks!
Kathy Logsdon | Louisville, KY USA | 06/27/2002

"I love this CD. Tim's style and talent really shine. You can't help but sing along, and you'll listen to each song enough to learn the words in no time. The sound is smooth, the beat & the words are catchy, & the songs are extremely danceable. You will definitely want to be a "Krekkie" - if you aren't one already - after hearing this CD. Go Tim...& thanks for the good times!!!!"
