"My Name is Kim, I have a story as to how I stumbled on this CD and discovered Tim Janis.

My Daughter Emily (age 6)suddenly passed away in mid febuary 2005, she was our only child and we miss her immensely. Before she died, her poppop took her to a store while I shopped next door for something to wear. She went into a "dollar store" and decided she did not want anything for herself but bought some artificial roses for "me". She ran into the store I was in (you could only see these "roses" being held up high and the clothes racks moving as she made her way to me at the cash register. "Momma, momma, look! I bought you roses" she said enthusiastically (she loved roses) I still have them.

The day she contracted the virus she was at a childrens "touch and see musuem" in South Carolina where she had just made me her first valentines card, on the front is a "heart" inside the card was written "Love U Mommy" and drawn inside was "a Rose".

Another instance was two freinds of mine who felt led to send some gifts over to myself, they also said they had a gift for Emily as well. They sent a multitude of various things with hand painted Roses all over them and a handmade Angel for my daughter. It was sent two days before she passed away and arrived the same day my daughter died. I thought nothing of the "connection" to the Roses but I was elated after many of these occurences kept happening, even an online dream I'll refrain from telling, but my family witnessed these events and we were all so blessed by them.

After about a week my sister and I went to Barnes and Noble for some books on greif, I had finished shopping and my sister wanted to pick up a CD so we went into the music section there. I hadn't seen a music store for what seemed like forever and was standing at the "new release" section staring at the box and the headphones wondering what this thing was (yes it had been that long). Off to my left something caught my eye and it was a CD with a giant Red Rose on the cover. I was curious but not all that excited until I read the titles on the CD and I started to cry right there in the store. I decided to "liisten" and I trembled crying more, I had to have this CD. If this was not for anyone but me, I'm forever grateful because its the most beautiful music I ever heard. I wanted to write Jim to tell him, maybe he'll just see it here and know just how blessed "I" was.

I wrote on my daughters memorial, "We received your Roses and each time we get them we know they are from YOU". We continue to get these "roses" and we know they are from Emily and she used Tim Janis as one of those means of touching us this way.

There is not a title on here that is not absolutely breath taking, with the biased exception of "My Rose of Joy" its too "happy" for me just yet. Each title really moves you on the inside and everyone who has heard this CD in our house is inlove with it.

Thank you Jim, your actually a part of our family on this CD its beautiful, I will treasure it forever."
Thereapudic, calming and serene...

"Simply put...wonderful. I know nothing of the subject of composing music; nor can I even read music; however I think this guy is an absolutely outstanding. Initially, I bought this for my 50 minute commute every day, in an effort to try to calm my nerves while surrounded by crazy people going 80 - 90 mph. Well, it worked and have since fallen in love with his style. I listen to his music while I work, while I drive and while I write. I will eventualy own all his CDs...and already have 3 of them. Strangely enough though, they are all similar, yet still all different."
The Promise, Tim Janis

"I discovered Tim Janis on a trip to Kennebunk, Maine in 2000. I was in a shop that was playing his music. I was immediately taken by the uplifting, soothing and beautiful melodies. Some of the pieces have a Celtic flavor, and although his music has a distinct style, each composition is unique. The thought has crossed my mind when I listen to my collection of Tim Janis CDs that if someone close to me were seriously ill, this would be the most therapeutic music I could give them.

I believe I have all of Tim Janis' CDs. I recommend all of them, but I am particularly enthralled by The Promise, which is very romantic and lush. It's perfect background music for intimate moments."
