Olga Sitkovetsky, piano DATA DVD + AUDIO CD (in DVD amaray case) Tim Hugh, principle cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra, is widely regarded as the one of the great British cellists of the 21st century. This recording also features top Russian accompanist Olga Sitkovetsky (piano). In 2005, Steve Hugh, Tim's older brother, unexpectedly died of a heart attack. This recording was made on 26th November 2007 amongst the famous acoustics and architecture of the Wigmore Hall in London, at 'A Concert for Steve' that the Hugh family had arranged in order to raise funds for charity the British Heart Foundation. The Naim Label is donating 20% of every disc sold to the British Heart Foundation in the United Kingdom who aim to fight Heart disease with groundbreaking research, vital prevention activity and quality care
Hands On Heart is an apt and emotional tribute, but also a poignant collection of mixed classical repertoire for cello and piano including a number of colourful encores such as Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Flight of the Bumblebee' and personal favourites such as Faure's 'Apres un Reve'.
The concert was recorded and mastered in high resolution 24bit/96kHz digital audio by legendary classical engineer Tony Faulkner IMPORTANT NOTICE: This twinpack consists of an audio CD (16bit 44.1kHz) and a data DVD that contains master hi-res WAV files (24bit 88.2 kHz). The hi-resolution audio data files on the DVD are all in one master folder which is called by the artist name. This can be simply dragged and dropped (also called copy and paste) onto a local computer drive for mosteffective playback. These files are stored in the industry standard file structure and include cover art and track titles. The DVD will not playback when inserted into CD, HDCD, SACD or DVD-A players, for this reason the audio CD has been provided. Naim HDX will locate and index (enumerate) this folder for playback assuming it has been copied to a drive shared to the HDX. See the HX owner's manual for further information.
