Endearing hard pop from Alabama

"Pop/Rock fans with fond memories of the Blake Babies, Velocity Girl, and That Dog will likely find in Three Finger Cowboy a reason to stand up and cheer: Here's another fine, loud pop band fronted by a smart, witty woman with a pleasantly unschooled voice and a way with an electric guitar. Katharine McElroy's bright vocals are charged with enthusiasm and seasoned with a little grit, and her lyrics manage to make potentially tired topics like love, gossip, and rock 'n' roll sound fresh and exciting."
