"I own 2 other recent live recordings from The Thing which are maybe a bit better than this in terms of sound quality and variety of composition. The addition of Ken Vandermark makes this a more dynamic and dare i say harmonic version of The Thing. The bass is almost inaudible in some places, and there's one and only spontaneous composition in the cd , but WHAT an improvisation!! (it is divided in 4 parts, and it sure goes through the changes). Great, fiery stuff, but also sensitive music, more in the 'rock side' of free jazz...it's another one to treasure from this already legendary band. Recommended."
