Gothic Rock Music for your inner Nosferatu

"Vampires have reached a sort of lower-class kitsch with New York Broadway renditions of "Dance of the Vampires", "Dracula: The Musical", and most recently Elton John's pop disappointment "LeStat". There's no question vampires are intriguing, but the wrong talents seemed to be approaching the subject. Theatres Des Vampires brings the fear, horror, and thrill of the creatures of the night. With growling vocals, choral chants, Phantom of the Operatic organs, it's dark, intimidating, and haunting. Like The Sisters Of Mercy before them, this is also reminiscient of the under-appreciated Faith No More album "Angel Dust", with the feel of Ozzy's Black Sabbath, or-more especially-like the theatrics of King Diamond [but without the schizophrenic vocalizations]. If you're curious, it may be just what you're looking for!"

"Despite people and the degrading bands that has barely anything to offer a line up of subjects such as vampires/romantics/the vintage aura/opera singers/having actual talent to begin with/and being horror fans as well as everything else. You can count out every band, but one that has had the seriousness as this band I feel still has. Cradle of Filth had the leading narrative lyrics to this type of not only music, but the aura to it as well. It is in my opinion that people who write "spooky songs" without everything I've listed above, make it more laughable, and very cliché than having the real architectural talents it needs to have to pull it off. It is a rare breed of bands that can do it, still!

These two bands are the only bands [earlier Cradle, than newer] I know of that have been serious about it without watering it down [to] much. No matter what you think of the two bands. Cradle of Filth is only band that should be compared to Theatre des Vampires. I believe this band still to this day [without the vanity that identifies one band to the next in attempts to make themselves more of the mainstreams phrase "my band is more goth than yours" with the continuous banalities that comes with it] has the passion for this type of music. I commend them for their persistent mind set. Plus I feel they have more of a cult following than Cradle does. I love Cradle of Filth; I have followed them for years but Theatre des Vampires I can take more serious without feeling them becoming plastic with growing of album sales. That fact alone makes me sadder by the second!!"
