Synopsis

Product Description
This is the third release from my ongoing recording project... I wrote and recorded these songs almost three years ago, around the time I had begun to write my second album. They were initially written with the intention of a collaboration in mind, but time and circumstance led that idea to be abandoned. So after sitting on these songs for a bit and allowing life and other things to happen, I m finally getting around to putting this EP out. About the recordings... Musically, these songs are relatively unassuming with a basic structure centered around a lead vocal supported by piano or acoustic guitar. I met a sweet girl who helped me turn a couple songs into duets. Another friend helped me with some much needed whistling, a skill I lack but wish I had. While I always do my own tracking in my basement studio, this was the first time I attempted to mix my own recordings for the sake of learning how to do it. With that in mind, I deliberately kept the production simple and the instrumentation sparse to avoiding getting in over my head. Lastly, these songs center around a fleeting romance that ended before it really began, a possibly familiar topic to many and definitely often written about.... I guess that s all that really needs to be said these songs. It s interesting to reflect on them after a bit of time has passed, as I am deep in the middle of the recording of another album. They feel a little like distant after thoughts, but it s nice to get to put this EP out and behind me.
