One Caveat

"Although I am very impressed with this collection, I was disappointed that Rubber Ring and Asleep were not joined together as they were on the original vinyl single. Nitpicking, I know, but it was one of the motivations for buying this box."
This is a treasure found ar the back of a closet!!!!

"I might say that this review might be helpful just for The Smiths hardcore fans since these songs presented here are available in other Smiths' compilation and more recently in the "The sounds of the smiths" one release last year. I have always found fascinating how the band decided to put out for their albums' covers some movie stars or something instead of coming up with just another cover that might catch the attention of the buyers (decision made by Morrissey since he has always loved films from the 50's or even 60's) and I think what really this boxset is all about is the artwork of the singles here. I would've never imagine that I would be able to own the smiths singles this way... I mean, how could I imagine that I would have had teh chance to own the very FIRST single they released back in 1984 or the painfully hard to find "Barbarism begins at home"?. I mean, I already own all the songs here in their original albums and ALL the compilations that have been sold from the band but, let's admit it!!! this is all about to have the pleasure to say "hey! I own the smiths singles with their original artwork". Besides the music that it's just stunning (come on! how can I talk about a Smiths song without letting down the other ones??? It's just impossible!) Buy this compilation if you're a collector of awesome music items and if you're planning with this to open up a museum or something in your house... some kind of a private collection to show up to your friends, to lend to the woman or man you're in love with or to leave for future generations with your children or maybe your grandchildren. This box set is like a box of precious diamonds I found somewhere in the web and now I OWN!!! ANd YES!!! I really hope that Rhino decides to release another boxset with the rest of the singles from The Smiths in order to complete this one. Ask me if I would be willing to buy that? HELL YEAH!!!!!"
