Power Pop Masterpiece

"I must confess. Power Pop is far and away my favorite musical genre. Yes, I do prefer songs with predictable structure (verse, chorus amd bridges melded by glorious hooks) over the oddball noodlings, ambient noise and repetitive squawking that passes these days as the sophisticated "Alternative". That said, one of the best power pop releases of the past year is undoubtedly Fountains of Wayne's "Welcome Interstate Managers". Overall, this Rosenberg's release is somewhat stronger. Enough said."

"catchy lyrics, tight harmonies, powerful guitars, and songs that actually have dynamics are just a few of the great things i loved about this record. the songs don't all sound exactly the same (a la many other records on the shelves) and the song woods incorporated some incredible string arrangements. powerpop songs like holding pattern, pushing up daisies, and department store girl fit right in with power ballads like unperfect love and blue skies. the moog used on crockett & tubbs completely makes the song and the production makes this record a must have. may all of you out there enjoy it as much as i do."
