Synopsis

The Radiators have become New Orleans' answer to NRBQ. Both, after all, are well traveled, good time bar bands with a cult of fans more than willing to give their brains the night off. Recorded during a four-night San Francisco stint in September of 1997, this 12-song set focuses on original songs that get the feet moving and the head smiling. Although some originals stand out--the swaying calypso groove of "UFO's Exactly," for instance--the Rads' strength lies in their covers. They offer Muscle Shoals soul with a pair of Clarence Carter numbers--a passionate "Slip Away" and an urgent "You Can't Miss What You Can't Measure." The traditional folk song "Little Sadie" receives a blistering rock rendition, while on the rollicking, 14-minute "Lucinda" jam, the "Theme from the Magnificent Seven" segues into the Meters' "Cissy Strut." -- Marc Greilsamer

Great New Orleans Rock and Blues!

"Live is always best when listening to the Radiators! No one since the Grateful Dead has there been a more cohesive and fun loving jam session band. I have been listening and attending Radiators concerts through most of the Radiators 20 year existence, and they keep getting better and better. No one can ever equal their late night jams at the Maple Leaf, the Palace downtown, or Tipitina's....when they would come on at 11:00 and play til 3 or 4 am...then go and hang at Fat Harry's for some cheese fries...still excited over the energy these guys can provide....Keep groovin' Ed and the Gang....we love your music....."

"This is one of the best Radiators CD's! If you're new to the Radiators and/or never been to a show, don't waste your time with a studio CD. It's like a different band. Buy this and share with friends you're introducing to the Rads. Better yet - take them to a show!"
