Best Roy Campbell performance

"Excellent compositions (really thought out, anchored in groove and even swing and be bop yet free also). One of Roy Campbell's best performances, that i have heard. Sax player Whitecage was unknown to me but will remember him after this. Joe Fonda is a revelation. Alert and dynamic full of complicated, beautiful runs and great at keeping the group together. Without him and Lou Grassi this would not have been such a great cd. Their rythmic sense and focus is great fun to listen to. They also definitely 'get' the tradition. I can feel Charlie Parker & Ayler when i play this. Highly recommended group!"
