Album Description

Recorded at the bucolic Castle Music Studio near Nashville, Tennessee, Echo Park captures the NPT in late 2001 after a year of intensive touring. Filled with big beats and new ideas, Echo Park moves easily from rollicking samba (Summer Soft) to afro funk (Oumou), and post-modern jams (Echo Park). The NPT explores new rhythms and textures without relying on cliché or losing touch with their listeners.

"I work at a jazz club and am privileged to say that I've seen New Power Trio three times. I RARELY buy the CDs that our acts sell because I've discovered that they usually disappoint me. I'd simply rather not hear a studio set after hearing a live performance. This CD is simply a cut above the others. I find myself smiling throughout every cut. Nate's touch reminds me of Keith Jarrett's and the compositions are outstanding. Another album soon, please?"
