Synopsis

Product Description
The New Lou Reeds present their disappointing sophomore slump album. Not quite "heartland rock" and not what most people call "punk" anymore, the band owes its sonic debt to a surprisingly diverse array of sources, both musical and literary. They sing about food, politics, women and whatever the hell happened to America. It's like Southern Rock from the North - or punk for hippies - or X and Richard Hell trying to cover The Band.

CD Reviews

It's too bad nobody likes "rock" anymore
Stephe DK | A state of disbelief | 02/13/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"because if they did, they'd probably enjoy this album. however, everything sounds like james taylor or someone amplifying a vacuum cleaner these days. oh yeah, a lot of the lyrics are humorous and/or recontextualized (like their name and cover art) lyrics of other songs. a good album if you both drink heavily and read a lot, but enjoy zz top (and in an only slightly ironic way). The neutrality of this article is disputed."
