"There are a lot of talented musicians out there, maybe too many. But there are very few songwriters who are accomplished poets. Mike Larson, lead singer/songwriter for The Movies, is a great poet. My favorite song is "That's What I Want," about a man who "found love in the ruins of his room." The Movies remind me of Counting Crows, the Wallflowers, maybe even Bruce Cockburn and the Police. Poetry, soul, sadness, honesty, hopefulness... it's all there in the Movies. I can't wait to hear their next feature."

"My first clue that I had found a great CD was when I couldn't get the refrain from There She Goes outta my head the next day. As with any favorite song, it's a nice problem to have. From the toe-tappers(e.g.title song) to the pensive ballads(Ghosts in the Rain), this CD has lots to offer. Killer lyrics and catchy tunes, it's quickly made my most-listened-to short list. Outstanding piece of work for an new band. Looking forward to more of the same!"

"This CD contains a captivating mix of rock, ballad... I'm not sure what to call it, but all good. Some of it has great beat ("I Let it Ring") and some of it is almost haunting ("Ghost in the Rain"). And lyrics that provoke ("You'd Rather Have Love"). One of my favorite CD's to date."
